JAA Modular ATPL (Certificate)

The Western Australian Aviation College is proud to offer modular Joint Aviation Authority (JAA) ATPL theory training for pilots with a non JAA licence.

A JAA Commercial Licence allows graduates to fly within Europe (subject to the passport/visa requirement to be allowed to work in Europe). It is also highly sort after by a range of major international airlines, giving students the edge over their peers.

The learning options are very flexible, you can start at anytime and can study at your own pace to complete all 14 examinations. Best of all, you aren’t left alone and will normally be required to attend two weeks of consolidation training in Perth, Western Australia to receive feedback and support.

Please note that for experienced pilots the actual requirements may be reduced.

PPL (Certificate)

Course Format: Public Course / Instructor-Led / Open Enrollment  V

The Private Pilot Licence (PPL) Exam needs to be successfully completed before either participating in solo navigation exercises outside the training area (this may vary dependant on the syllabus you are completing) or attempting your PPL flight test. CASA require a mark of 70% or higher in order to pass the exam.

The PPL Theory course may be completed on a full time or part time basis. The course is held full time four times each year, or is available as a part time evening course. The part time evening course is held each week of the year on a Tuesday and Thursday night, with students able to join the course at anytime.

The WA Aviation College is also able to facilitate students sitting the exam at our Jandakot Airport Campus.

Basic Aeronautical Knowledge

Course Format: Public Course / Instructor-Led / Open Enrollment  V

The Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAK) Exam needs to be successfully completed prior to attempting the practical General Flying Progress Test. CASA require a mark of 70% or higher in order to pass the exam.

The WA Aviation College covers the theory required for the completion of the BAK Exam on a full time or part time basis. Our full time course is offered four times a year in week long blocks or alternatively students can complete the course part time across two and a half weekends.

The WA Aviation College can also facilitate students sitting the exam at our Jandakot Airport Campus.

Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Aeroplane Pilot Licence) CPL

Course Format: Public Course / Instructor-Led / Open Enrollment  V

The Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Aeroplane Pilot Licence) is the WA Aviation College’s flagship training package. On completion of this course, graduates will have developed an intimate knowledge of aviation, placing them in an enviable position to launch their career.

Graduates from the Western Australian Aviation College’s Certificate IV will not only gain an Australian International Commercial Pilot Licence, but receive an internationally recognised qualification.

The theory courses and practical training are conducted at the College’s facilities at Jandakot Airport, Western Australia. Jandakot Airport is one of the busiest airport in Australia as measured by aircraft movements, so graduates are well placed to cope with busy aircraft patterns.
